Vintage Indian Fruit Wood And Iron Bajot Plant Stand

Vintage painted Indian teak wood bajot or plant stand. Made from reclaimed timbers rescued from crumbling havellis in Gujarat State. Stands like this (Bajots) were originally intended to eat from, as guests sat on the floor and were found in every home in India at one time. It comes with sturdy iron feet and makes for a great plant stand. Whilst a newer piece, it is made from old wood, cut by hand many years ago, with a beautiful colour and patina which really shows its age and history, and there are some historic repairs and age related marks and wear and tear as you would expect for wood of this age.
