Vintage heavyweight Indian iron and steel kitchen pot, used for both cooking in, making dough and washing up. The use of iron and steel for kitchen pots was commonly found in 19th and early 20th century India, prior to the cheaper aluminium influx. From about 1950 pots tended to be made from aluminium. Whilst hard to date, we estimate our examples are mostly from the 1940’s, with a few earlier ones. Today these pot are repurposed for everything from fruit bowls to planters, log storage and bird baths, and are prized for their weight, quality, resilience, sturdiness and general antique look and feel. Getting much harder to find now in such good condition. Please note that the measurements given are an average for the stock we hold of these mirrors. If you need exact measurements, please ask before purchasing.
