This rare Antique Turquoise Blue Patina Indian Teak Jali Door Garden Gate Pair is a truly unique find, salvaged from a historic building in Gujarat State. Dating to the nineteenth century, these doors are hand-crafted from solid teak and feature original turquoise blue and weathered brown paint, with areas of soft aqua and natural wood showing through the time-worn patina. The intricate jali (lattice) ironwork panels and heavy-duty original iron fittings—including bolts and latches—reflect their original use as secure yet ventilated entrances for grand homes.
These doors, known locally as ‘Lakdi Aur Lohe Ka Darwaza’ (wood and iron door), were traditionally placed at the entrance to a house or at the end of a drive, allowing air to circulate while maintaining security. Today, they are perfect for use as a dramatic garden gate, a feature wall, statement shutters, or even as a unique backdrop for events and film sets. The doors are in great condition for their age, with beautiful historic repairs, age-related marks, and a rich, layered patina that only centuries can create.
