These antique Indian teak wood and iron jali dog gates are remarkable examples of 19th-century craftsmanship, salvaged from a historic haveli in Gujarat State, India. Dating back to approximately 1880–1900, these gates were originally used at the main entrance of Gujarati havelis to keep dogs in while keeping other animals out.
Personally sourced by a member of Jardinopia in Rajasthan, India, these gates showcase their authentic heritage with original iron fittings, traces of old paint, and a stunning patina developed over more than 150 years. Their robust teak wood construction ensures durability and functionality, making them perfect for repurposing as entry garden gates for cottages, walled gardens, greenhouses, patios, or terraces. They also work beautifully as indoor décor or props for films recreating historical India.
