Description
Matching Pair of Antique Indian Juggling or Exercise Clubs. This set is turned from one piece of solid wood (probably teak) and dates from around 1900. A slightly different earlier shape. They would also have have been used for a variety of exercises, including shoulder and arm rotations, swings and balance drills, as well as the traditional ‘juggling’. Indian Clubs were traditionally used in ancient India and became popular in Europe and the US in the late 19th century. This type of equipment is still used today although they are commonly made from metal and other materials now. There are signs of small amounts of wear and tear as seen in the pictures, but they come with a fantastic patina. This pair would be perfect for anyone interested in antique exercise equipment, as well as juggling, the Circus, film props or just as a fantastic piece of art or room decor. Dimensions: Length 6 x Width 6 x Height 38cm
