These antique Indian teak wood and iron jali dog gates date back to the late 19th century (1880–1900) and were originally used in Gujarati havelis to keep dogs in and other animals out. Sourced personally by a member of Jardinopia in Rajasthan, India, these gates showcase exquisite craftsmanship with their original iron fittings and a rich patina developed over 150 years.
Perfect for repurposing as entry garden gates for cottages, walled gardens, greenhouses, patios, or terraces, they are also popular as unique décor pieces or film props evoking bygone India. Despite their age, the durable teak wood ensures they remain functional and weather-resistant for outdoor use in the UK climate. To preserve their colours outdoors, we recommend applying a clear protective lacquer.
While fully usable, these gates retain their authentic condition with age-related marks and repairs that enhance their historical charm. Dimensions: 116 x 5 x 116 cm (45.7 x 2 x 45.7 inches).
