This antique Indian Almirah, dating from around 1920, is crafted from solid teak wood and showcases vintage charm enhanced by its painted detail throughout. The fine and intricate painting was likely added later. Originating from Gujarat State, these “Kaanch Almirahs” (glass cabinets) were originally used in wealthier homes to display valuable items or in large kitchens to store crockery. Today, this versatile piece is repurposed for additional freestanding kitchen, bathroom, or utility room storage, as well as a display unit for your collections.
The Almirah features three shelves behind two glass-panelled doors, offering ample display and storage space. The fine painting and iron fittings enhance its authentic appeal. As a piece over 100 years old, it showcases some historic age-related marks and wear, adding to its unique character.
