This Antique Indian 1930s Teak Wood Glass Almirah Cabinet is a unique piece showcasing Indian craftsmanship. Constructed from solid teak wood with double glass-panelled doors, this cabinet has three shelves for excellent storage capabilities. These “Kaanch Almirahs”, originating from Gujarat, were historically used in the drawing rooms of wealthy homes to showcase valuable items, and in large kitchens for storing crockery. Today, they are repurposed as freestanding storage for kitchens, bathrooms, and utility rooms in the UK, or as display units.
This cabinet features a beautiful blue finish with wonderfully distressed original paint and iron fittings, giving it a unique character and charm. Being over 90 years old, this authentic antique displays age-related marks, adding to its narrative. Each item has been personally sourced by a member of Jardinopia in Rajasthan, India.
