This Antique Verdigris Teal & Rustic Brown Indian Teak Jali Door Garden Gate Pair is a rare and striking original from 19th-century Gujarat. Salvaged from a historic building and preserved for future generations, these doors display layers of beautifully weathered teal, verdigris green, and rustic brown, with hints of turquoise and natural wood peeking through the centuries-old patina. The original ironwork—heavy-duty bolts, locks, and vertical lattice bars—remains intact and fully functional, reflecting their historic use as secure yet ventilated entrances.
Known in Hindi as ‘Lakdi Aur Lohe Ka Darwaza’ (wood and iron door), these doors were traditionally positioned at the end of a drive, path, or in front of a solid door to allow air flow while maintaining security. Today, they make a dramatic statement as garden gates, feature walls, statement shutters, or unique backdrops for events and creative spaces. The doors are in excellent condition for their age, with authentic wear, historic repairs, and a rich, layered patina that cannot be replicated.
