This Antique Verdigris Green & Weathered Brown Indian Teak Jali Door Garden Gate Pair is a rare and original 19th-century find, salvaged from a historic building in Gujarat State. The doors feature a striking weathered brown finish, beautifully accented by layers of verdigris green and soft turquoise paint, with the original iron fittings and bolts still intact. The upper panels showcase classic jali (lattice) ironwork, allowing air and light to flow through, while the lower sections are adorned with hand-carved medallion motifs highlighted in soft green and turquoise hues.
Originally used as a secure yet ventilated entrance—known in Hindi as ‘Lakdi Aur Lohe Ka Darwaza’—these doors served both as a first line of defence and as a statement of architectural beauty. Today, they are perfect for use as a grand garden gate, a feature wall, unique shutters, or as a dramatic interior statement piece. The doors are in great condition for their age, with beautiful patina, historic repairs, and age-related marks that celebrate their journey through time.
