Description
Our antique Indian Hindu murti?(meaning in sanskrit, embodiment, or solid object) is a?devotional statue or deity found in Hindu temples. Not all Hindu images of gods and saints are?murti, and some are purely decorative sculptures in temples and on streets. A?murti?is itself not a god in Hinduism,?but it is a shape, embodiment, or manifestation of a deity. This is a fine antique example made from terracotta clay and with several old original fragments of paint, depicting amongst other deities, Ganesh, the ‘Elephant’ God’, resting on a cow. In fantastic original condition, and as with all objects of this age, comes with a few minor blemishes as you would expect. A lovely decorative piece.
